I guess you all already know.
Fast & Furious was a part of my childhood, actually my teenage years. I remember first time I watched F&F, from a VHS videotape, somewhere in 2003, maybe 2004... I don't remember. I was amazed. A movie dedicated to my hobbies - sports, tuned cars and races. This world involved me completely. I watched it only once.
Few years later I watched it again on a computer and I knew it's my favorite movie.
Some time ago, second part came out. I loved it even more than first part.
There was a period of time I was watching these two movies alternately every day. I was absorbing every detail, every time focusing on different details. Really! After few dozen of 'showings', I knew almost all dialogues.
Since I played Gran Turismo game, I love Japanese cars. F&F was full of them. Of course, F&F contributed to my love of tuning. I was admiring all these beauties. At some point, I started to draw various cars in a special notebook, all of them tuned in such F&F style of course. I still have those notebooks (few of them, yes), maybe I'll scan some of those 'scribbles'.
Oh, I have to mention the Need For Speed Underground game series, which was also No.1 for me at the time. I felt like heroes from F&F, running across the streets of city in my tuned Nissan Skyline, in the night, beating next opponents.
As I grew up, my tastes started to change. Such tuning became a bit childish to me, I realized buying a Toyota Supra or even Nissan S13 is a bit out of my league (although they are still quite cheap, but try to maintain such car! I wasn't thinking about that), I realized street races are stupid and dangerous.
But now, to the point.
Paul Walker - main character of F&F. He became my idol and favorite actor. I even wanted to look like him, to behave like him. I wanted to get a Japanese car, tune it, start in llegal races... Have a garage and tune cars... Believe me, that's the true. But I was about 13-15 years old back then.
So now, as I found out he died in an accident, I started to reminisce. All those years fascinated with Fast & Furious. Fascinated with Brian O'Conner. And now, there won't be another part of Fast & Furious with Brian. He was a symbol of this movie.
Such a loss.
Paul, you're still my favorite actor ever.
